Lighting is very important to an iguana. Not only does the light provide heat for the iguana.
It also provides UVA and UVB rays that are important in the health of your iguana. The heat, for the iguana can be provided
through a regular house bulb at 100 watts. Or through a basking spot light at 60 watts. I have recently seen a fluorescent
bulb called 'Iguana Light 5.0UVB' That seems to be really good. However, this bulb can NOT be used as a source of heat
for the iguana. The temperature around the spot lamp should be at a minimum 30 degrees Celsius. Some people wish
to use a heat rock for their iguana as a source of heat. This product can be used, but should not be used as the main
source of heat. I use mine to keep the iguana's temperature up at night. During the day I use a spot lamp with
'Zoo Meds Basking Spot Lamp' I feel that this is the best source of heat out there. It can be found at most pet
stores as can most of the other products I've mentioned.
